Blood Ball 2014: Are You Fit to Wear the Crown?

Published on Feb 04, 2014

I bet you thought when you came to college that it would mean saying goodbye to school dances. Not the case! Columbia is keeping that tradition alive again with the Mary Ann Blood Ball. The Blood Ball is an annual celebration in honor of Columbia’s founder Mary Ann Blood.

So if you ever dreamt of being the king or queen of your school, you still have a chance! Columbia is looking for students to nominate themselves for 2014’s Blood Ball King and Queen.

Any student with good standing (2.0 GPA or higher with no holds) can apply. What are you waiting for?

Here’s how to nominate yourself. It’s simple!

  1. Create a one-minute video stating your name, major and why you would be an awesome King or Queen.
  2. Submit your video with the online form. Videos are accepted until Feb. 10.
  3. Once you’ve submitted your video, it’ll appear on the Blood Ball voting page. Voting lasts from Feb. 14 – Feb. 28.

The Blood Ball is on March 7 from 7–10 p.m. at 1104 S. Wabash. Make sure you dress to impress! Come enjoy some mocktails, refreshments and dancing. Don't miss it.
