Compost Program Expands on Campus

Since receiving a grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to expand its composting program, Columbia has done just that!

Composting is decomposing organic materials, like food waste, into soil fertilizer that is rich with nutrients and beneficial to the environment. Columbia’s compost program has added compost bins around campus.
