Manifest Spotlight: Radio Department

This year at Manifest, the Radio Department will be filling the South Loop with live sound! From their live WCRX Radio broadcast to their DJ Club Practicum classes bumping beats all over campus, the radio performances are something you don't want to miss!

Jim Mitchem, full-time faculty in the Radio department, is responsible for coordinating the department's showcase in the Papermaker's Garden, AEMMP Stage and spinning at the Taste of Convergence.

"Our advanced student DJs will be spinning a wide variety of music including EDM, hip-hop, drum & bass and Top 40/dance, something for everyone. We will also have a special guest up-and-coming rapper named Young Fresh (a Columbia radio student) spit a couple of fresh raps during the hip-hop performance set," explains Mitchem.

The Paper Maker's stage with be filled for most of the day with students in the Club DJ Practicum II class, who will be playing their own mixes ranging from hip-hop to house to Top 40 beats and more.

Students will also be showcasing their DJ skills on the AEMMP Stage at Wabash and Balbo.

With this live feed of non-stop music taking over the South Loop, there will be something for all music lovers at Manifest!
