Manifest Spotlight: Motorcycle PhotoshootPublished on May 06, 2014
Rev up for the Photography department’s motorcycle shoot which will be in the front of 820 South Michigan Avenue from 3:00pm-7:00pm the day of Manifest! With a variety of 10-15 motorcyclists arriving throughout the day to have their portraits taken on a fully loaded commercial set, photography students will create quite the spectacle with their live photoshoot.
Photography’s BA/BFA senior exhibition will be inside the building, and outside, Manifest attendees will be able to witness a professional photoshoot with a creatively developed idea. Project Manager and Photo’s Director of Administration Laura Baucknet said “This event was developed to demonstrate Photography students’ experiential opportunities in an environment where they may not normally be able to work. Naturally, motorcycles and their owners, especially in large groups, will create an energy all their own.”
Students and alumni will be working in the roles of photographers, digital techs, re-touchers and printers while the shoot is going on. Students will be assisted by commercial photographer, Christian Lantry, full time faculty, Elizabeth Ernst, and a crew with a number of Photography’s full-time staff and adjunct faculty.
