24 Hour Night is Columbia College Chicago’s Halloween Celebration! These events promise to transform campus into a site of terror, fright, and delight. Events will be held in various venues from Tuesday, October 27th-October 30th.

“Student Program Assistants take the lead and I support them,” explains Coordinator of Student Activities, Shannon Bourne. “24 Hour Night started as a one-night event and over the years, due to its popularity, expanded to include 4 days of programming.”

One particular event, The Reptile Room, transforms the lobby of 623 S. Michigan into a site of inquiry as students probe around the space and interact with creepy lizards, snakes, and tarantulas.

One of the Student Production Assistants responsible for designing and marketing 24 Hour Night, Julian Ross (’17) explains that the “aesthetic of The Reptile Room, which I was involved in developing, has a creepy-crawly vibe. A full-time Reptile Handler, Jim Galeno, will have tanks lined up and students will be able to hold and pet these creatures and critters.”

On Thursday, October 29th, there will be pedicab stations outside 623, 916, and 1104 S. Wabash buildings to transport students between events; students dressed as zombie bellhops will usher students along to join the ride.
