Are You The Next Manifest Creative Director?Published on Sep 13, 2016
Think you can design the face of Manifest? Are you looking for a job, exposure, and the opportunity to build your body of work? We’re looking for Columbia College Chicago's best talent that can best portray the look and feel of Manifest Urban Arts Festival, Columbia’s end of the year celebration. Previous winners designs incorporated paper arts, watercolor, typography, graphic design, and mixed media. The winning designer will get exposure, fame, and untold riches. And by that we mean your work will be seen across Chicago and you’ll have a year-long paid student worker position as the 2017 Manifest Creative Director.
Before you move on, a few things you'll want to consider:
Submissions are open to students in ALL academic departments
Contestants must be current Columbia students enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours for undergraduate students and a minimum of 9 for graduate students.
Contestants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Contestants must submit original art. Do not use copy protected images or elements of another designer's work.
Contestants can submit up to 2 designs in the competition.
The contest winner will be asked to submit additional design concepts to us to help finalize and complete the 2016 Manifest Marketing campaign.
All submissions will be reviewed by a committee of students and staff who will select a limited number of designs.
The designs will then be released online for the public to vote.
Here's how it works:
To compete, you will submit a single .pdf of your design entry. That .pdf must contain two pages.
- Page one will be your poster design which will include the following text:
Manifest Urban Arts Festival
Friday, May 12, 2017
Manifest wordmark must be set in Arial Black typeface
- Page two will contain your interpretation on the Manifest star. The Manifest star represents the solar energy which radiates from our Columbia College community, offering sustenance and support to our students and inspiration and to all.
Things to consider:
The Manifest 2017 theme will be EMERGE.
To EMERGE is to come in to view, to turn up, become known. At Columbia College Chicago graduates have begun their journey of exploration, imagination and creation. At Manifest students will EMERGE as the performers, producers, designers and makers they have been preparing to become, ready to take on the world and transform our culture.
