In order to ensure that students are placed into the appropriate level of mathematics and writing courses, Columbia uses SAT and ACT scores to determine which course is best for each student. Students who have submitted SAT or ACT scores and have confirmed receipt of their scores with Columbia’s Undergraduate Admissions, firstname.lastname@example.org, do not need to do anything else. Even if you did not submit your SAT or ACT scores with your initial application, you should do one of the following:
- New Freshmen (no college transfer credit) should submit SAT or ACT scores by Friday, July 3.
- New Transfer Students should submit their SAT or ACT scores by Friday, June 19.
- Students who did not take the SAT or ACT should make arrangements with New Student Placement to take the COMPASS test instead. Call: (312)369-8130.
