Columbia’s Marketing Communication Department’s Practicum Class took 8th place out of a field of over 150 teams at this year’s American Advertising Federation (AAF) National Student Ad Competition (NSAC) in San Diego, California. Columbia’s team was one out of five teams nationally to receive special recognition at an all-star industry luncheon, winning iStockphoto’s Best Use of Imagery honor, and a cash award of $1,500. The team won over $3,000 in total winnings between the regional and national competitions.
Columbia’s Ad Practicum team has gone to the AAF/NSAC nationals three out of the last four years.
This year’s NSAC/AAF client was retailer JCPenney. The client-directed challenge was to attract 25-34 year old female shoppers to JCPenney with a cross-channel year-long approach involving industry analysis, primary research, 360 strategy development, creative executions, media planning, and evaluation metrics.
Congratulations to the students involved and faculty member Peg Murphy for making this years competition a success.
I was trying to remember how I found your post – Columbia College Chicago : Students : News : Marketing Communication Students Place in Prestigious Advertising Competition – but I can’t recall. I think other people would be interested in reading it too, so I shared this page – http://students.colum.edu/news/2011/07/11319/ – on Digg.com. I hope this is alright.
I truly love your blog.. Pleasant colors & theme. Did you build this site yourself? Please reply back as I’m trying to create my own website and would like to find out where you got this from or exactly what the theme is called. Thank you!
An interesting discussion is price comment. I believe that you need to write more on this subject, it might not be a taboo topic however generally people are not sufficient to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
