Lynda.com, a digital online learning suite, helps students learn, master, and apply digital tools and techniques. The site offers online courses in Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, AfterEffects, Excel, HTML, CSS, ProTools, Final Cut and an extensive list of other topics, programming languages and software titles.
The normal subscription rate is $375 per online course, but Columbia has made it available to students, faculty, and staff for free. To access Lynda.com for free students, faculty, and staff need to login to OASIS, select the Training tab and click the link for Lynda.com. You will need to access Lynda.com via OASIS each time to enjoy the free benefit.
When I log on to Oasis I don’t have the training tab. I’m a current student as of right now, but I know I haven’t registered for FALL 2012. Does this matter?
Is this available for both current and alumni or just current?
It’s for current students – however, if you can still login to OASIS it will work for you. It basically works by recognizing who is logged into OASIS and coming from a specific IP address. Give it a shot.
Im an alumni. When I log into oasis, there is no “Training” tab… ?
Apologies – the view for alumni is no longer the same in OASIS and the Lynda benefit currently extends only to students, faculty and staff.
