The Columbia bookstore provides students a convenient way to buy or rent their textbooks and other course materials. Located in the 624 S. Michigan Ave. building, the bookstore is the only textbook retailer that works directly with Columbia to provide a complete inventory of the books and other course materials required for Columbia’s courses.
The bookstore’s revamped website allows students to login, locate the required course materials and review used and/or new materials that are available to either rent or buy. The store is also a good source of Columbia gear and apparel.
Textbook Rentals
Renting textbooks is simple. Students must sign up for the program in the store or online. Sign up requires a state ID; email address and cell phone number; and some sort of financial collateral like a credit or debit card. Once signed up, students can rent their books in-store or reserve them online and pick them up later. Students have the option to buy rented textbooks at the end of the semester.
Book Charge Program
The bookstore accepts multiple forms of payment, including the book charge program. To take advantage of the book charge program, visit the Student Financial Services (SFS) tab in the OASIS portal and look for the Book Authorization Form.
Students who stop by the bookstore in-person should bring their Campus Card (Student ID) and a copy of their syllabus to use to help quickly locate the resources they will need for the semester.
