Advising At Columbia

At Columbia, advising is a shared responsibility between academic advisors, faculty, and students. Every student has an assigned academic advisor based on his, her, or their major. Every student is expected to take responsibility for his or her education, consider our advice and ask questions.

  • Academic Advisors assist students with all transitional issues to help them navigate the entire college experience.
  • Faculty assist students with specific issues in their major/minor and with industry expectations.
  • MyColumbia Advising Tools help students to understand their records and requirements.
  • Students are expected to use all of these advising resources to succeed...and graduate!
