Advising At Columbia
At Columbia, advising is a shared responsibility between college advisors, faculty advisors and students. Every student has an assigned college advisor based on his or her major and every student will be assigned a faculty advisor after he or she earns 30 credit hours. Every student is expected to take responsibility for his or her education, consider our advice and ask questions.
- College Advisors assist students with all transitional issues to help them navigate the entire college experience.
- Faculty Advisors assist students with specific issues in their major/minor and with industry expectations.
- OASIS Advising Tools help students to understand their records and requirements.
- Students are expected to use all of these advising resources to succeed...and graduate!
