What goes into an academic plan? A lot more than just a list of courses. You need to know about stuff like the 8 degree requirements, Satisfactory Academic Progress, the Academic Center for Tutoring, finding a community, Career Services, getting to class on time...just to name a few. We can help you put all of the pieces together.
Satisfactory Academic Progress
All undergraduate students must meet the college's standards for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
Academic Support Resources
To help you live intellectually, we offer services to give you that extra push you might need. The Academic Center for Tutoring at Columbia College Chicago offers one-on-one tutoring as well as class-related services. Visit us to learn how to access all of the many offices that can support you both in and out of the classroom.
Understanding Class Standing
Unlike high school, where your class standing is determined by how many years you’ve attended school, Columbia ranks you on how many credits you’ve earned. If you have questions about whether you’re on the right track, come talk to an Academic Advisor.
Taking certain steps as you matriculate through the college will ensure that you not only graduate, but are also prepared to live what you love. Make sure you read our Advising Timeline to see what you need to do when.
We are here.
All of Columbia knows that when you don't know where to go, you can come see us. We always have college advisors available during business hours to answer your questions, discuss solutions, and get you to where you need to go. Contact us.
