Set-up Your Alumni Account

All Columbia College Chicago degreed alumni have access to Handshake.  For more information regarding your alumni status, contact the alumni office. The Career Center works with degreed alumni within one year of graduation.

Set-up Your Account

    1. 1. Follow the button below, and click on "Sign up for an Account".
    2. 2. Select the "Student/Alumni" account type.
    3. 3. Click on "Register for a New Account" (PLEASE NOTE: you will need to register with a personal email address, alumni cannot register with a Columbia-issued email address).
    4. 4. Once you are registered and signed in, you can update your profile, upload your resume, and start applying.

Account Approval and Support 

Your account will be approved once your alumni status is verified. Approval may take 1- 3 business days. An administrator from the Career Center may reach out to you for more information. General questions and help with Handshake may be found here.

If you forget your login credentials:
    1. 1. Go to the login screen
    2. 2. Click on the link: “Log in using your Email and Password”
    3. 3. Enter your email address you used to register
    4. 4. Click on the link: “Forgot your password?”
    5. 5. You'll receive an email shortly from Handshake to your registered email address
    6. 6. If you’re having further issues, email:
