Alumni: Then & Now

September 4 - October 19, 2012

Reception September 6, 5-8pm

Alumni: Then & Now features work made by artists when they were students at Columbia College Chicago, and purchased for the DEPS Permanent Collection. Some of these students have gone on to become highly recognized in the art world, while others have chosen taken completely different career paths.

The exhibition features photographic subjects that interested the students during their time at Columbia and in Chicago: from derelict buildings, to still lives of fruit, to political photo-journalism. Many have moved away from these formative influences, whilst others have expanded their themes still further.

Artists include: Romere Beien, Matt Cassel, Erin Clark, Ryan Patrick Clarke, Jenna Lynn Deidel, Brent Faklis, Rashid Johnson, Curtis Mann, Dagmara Mituniewicz, Marissa Moore, Nans Saarima, Brandon Sorg, Brian Sorg, Rachel Stretcher, Katherine Rae Walters, Shanna Vincent.

Alumni: Then & Now is curated by BFA Photography student Maggie Appell
