2021 MFA Photography Thesis Exhibition

December 9, 2021-February 1, 2022
Closed in observance of the holidays from December 20, 2021- January 10, 2022

The 2021 MFA Photography Thesis Exhibition showcases the work of two emerging artists: Natasha Moustache and Odeth Reinoso Sanchez. Moustache’s work Under the Same Sun explores the interconnectedness and transnationality of the Black diaspora through a familial archive of portraiture, domestic interiors, and cherished possessions. Sanchez’s work In-Between Places is a visual body of work that analyses how photographs provide an emotional and psychological foundation for memories.

These artists are confident in their approach, whether their work is poetic or direct in its form, and they challenge us to question the world through their own lens – a lens that reveals the fragility of being human; the complexities of memory, place and home; and the universal need for us to find connections with one another.

Please note: For entry into DEPS spaces, masks as well as proof of vaccination or proof of a negative Covid test within the last 72 hours are required.
