Counseling ServicesThe Counseling Services staff provides students with a safe place to express their thoughts and feelings, explore alternative points of view, and manage the stresses of college life. Columbia students are entitled to 12 individual counseling sessions per academic year. In addition to individual therapy, students may participate in the weekly support groups provided by Counseling Services staff and attend the monthly Wellness Series workshops throughout the academic year. All therapeutic services are completely confidential. The individual and group sessions are supported by the Student Health Center fee, at no additional cost. Students should contact (312) 369-8700 to schedule an appointment with a therapist. For more information on services and groups, students can visit colum.edu/counseling. Students can also complete anonymous online screenings for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, substance abuse, and trauma through the website; screening.mentalhealthscreening.org/columbiacollegechic.
