Obama: An Intimate Portrait features fifty photographs taken during the President’s two terms in office. This exhibition is an intimate portrait of a historic presidency through the eyes of former Chief Official White House photographer Pete Souza. Souza did more than document an American President, he invited America into the home of an intelligent, compassionate, graceful, and complex man. For eight years Americans were a part of the Obama family.

Obama: An Intimate Portrait was created by New Bedford Art Museum/ArtWorks! NBAM/ArtWorks! and the New Bedford Historical Society and organized by art2art Circulating Exhibitions. This exhibition is sponsored by Columbia College Chicago’s Office of Admissions, supported by the Department of Exhibitions, Performance, and Student Spaces [DEPS], and is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency. The exhibition is being hosted as part of the Arts Schools Network Conference, taking place at Columbia from October 26-29, 2021, at which Pete Souza is a keynote speaker.
