The Alertus desktop application extends Columbia Alerts to desktops, giving Campus Security the capability to provide safety instructions quickly and directly to the faculty, staff and students.
When a Columbia emergency alert is active, the Alertus desktop application may be used and a full screen notification will appear on computers if they are connected to the college network. The pop up notification can be dismissed by clicking the green “Dismiss” button on the bottom of the notification.
The Alertus desktop application is installed on general purpose computers managed by IT. Alertus is also available for installation on personal computers. To install the Alertus desktop application manually, use the download links on this page.
