We Become Each Other’s Unmakers

WE BECOME EACH OTHER’S UNMAKERS, the fifth installment in the Collaborative Exhibition series pairs graduate students of Interdisciplinary Arts and Creative Writing. Through exploring the act of collaboration as a process of discovery, the work considers the engagements of becoming and un-becoming as mutually informative practices, of un-making as re-making, and therefore making within a space of perpetual motion and (inter)change.
Comprised of interactive artworks that undergo a process of transition and modification, the exhibition will be an ongoing experience that takes place both inside and outside the gallery space. Seeking to explore, challenge and/or redefine the concept of intellectual ownership, the works will span across disciplines in order to investigate the nature of collaboration as a dialogic interaction.

April 10th at 7pm InterArts Salon - Artist Talks
1104 S Wabash, 2nd Floor, Room 205 (Raw Space)
Students from the C33 Gallery Collaboration are joined by InterArts faculty, MFA and MA students in oresenting a short introduction to their current work and process. Each imformal presentation is followed by a short question and answer session. Arstists from the Collaboration will also be on hand to discuss the We Become Each Other's Unmakers exhibition project. FREE: open to the public, all ages appropriate, some snacks and beverages provided, guests encourage to bring a snack to share.
April 11th at 7pm Dancing Audiences - Evening of Immersive Performances
C33 Gallery, 33 E. Congress Ave.
Artists Alex Borgen, Penelope Hearne, Daniel Scott Parker and Megan Pitcher present an evening of immersive performances that activate the viewing body. Participants will be invited to interact with sculptural objects, explore the sonic qualities of their bodies as instruments and add their ideas into movement experiments directed by the artists. Guests are welcome to watch or participate, and are free to come and go throughout the event.
