SENSORIUM explores the cognitive stimuli of interior architecture, experimenting with elements of form, light, color, texture and activity to forge experiential, perceptual and emotional connections within the space. The first month of the exhibition will highlight the design-build process. The first phase of the installation will open on November 12, 2015 and visitors can watch it grow through December 9, 2015. The completed exhibition will remain open to the public from December 9, 2015 through January 16, 2016.
SENSORIUM is a product of Columbia College Chicago’s Special Topics in Design: Design-Build Studio. The course offers rotating topics within design practices that explore interdisciplinary interactions. For Fall of 2015, interior architecture and product design students are collaborating to design and build the SENSORIUM exhibition. This exhibition is held in conjunction with the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
