The Columbia College Chicago Diversity Award was established to encourage students to focus on the importance of diversity in higher education as preparation for life in a global society. Scholarship winners are announced in the Spring of each academic year. The total amount of the award is $4,000 for one academic year; $2,000 awarded in the fall semester and $2,000 awarded in the spring semester. The Diversity award is open to both undergraduate and graduate students and is applied toward tuition only.

Students who are selected and accept this award are considered Diversity Scholars through Student Diversity and Inclusion. Diversity Scholars are encouraged to participate in ways that continue to nurture and maintain the vibrancy of diversity within the Columbia College Chicago community.
Diversity Scholars form a special community – a community of students dedicated to nourishing diversity at Columbia College Chicago. As a community, Diversity Scholars have occasional gatherings, cultural hot topics, and events hosted by Student Diversity and Inclusion.
