Department 24

May 10 – 24, 2024
Reception: Friday, May 10th, 2024, 5-7p.m.

Welcome to Department 24, an exploration into the creativity of Columbia College Chicago’s graduating graphic design seniors. The grid concept represents the fundamentals of design and exhibits the excellent disciplinary knowledge in art and design the seniors have retained in their time at Columbia. As you explore this exhibition, you will encounter an impressive array of graphic design projects that showcase years of dedication, experimentation, and hard work. From dynamic brand identities to thought-provoking publication works that challenge conventional typography, each project represents the unique perspective and journey of its designer. Whether you are experiencing this showcase in person or online, we invite you to immerse yourself in the design world and join us in celebrating the next generation of designers.

Department 24 is presented in conjunction with the Department of Exhibitions, Performance, and Student Spaces (DEPS) and the Art|Design Department, Sarah Faust, Associate Professor of Instruction in Design, Angela Azpeitia, BA '24, and Nate Roth, BA '24.
