Originally built in 1911 as the headquarters of the Dwight Brothers Paper Company, the Dwight Building was home to multiple independent printing and binding shops. A classic example of the "company lofts" style, the building became a landmark in the Printer's Row area of Chicago. While the building has been wholly renovated, it's spirit has been preserved. The Dwight stays true to it's heritage as a working space—a place where aesthetics and creativity are held in the highest esteem. Immerse yourself in this creative environment, and discover new inspiration.

The Dwight offers double-occupancy bedrooms & private bedrooms, both in shared apartments. Here are some examples:

Technology Information

Basic cable TV and internet access are provided in the Dwight. Telephone service is not provided. Many students rely on their cell phones as their primary method of communication. One flat screen TV and a remote is provided in the living room of each unit. Students who fail to return this equipment upon check out will be assessed a $1,000.00 fee for replacement.

Wifi is available in each apartment. However, students must provide their own wireless router (Belikin routers are not compatible). All computers (Mac & PC) should have the firewall enabled. This is used to block unwanted network communication with your computer. Using a firewall protects your computer from users on other networks or the internet.

Please Note: Mac & PC’s operating systems come installed with a firewall. There is nothing to purchase, students just have to make sure that it is turned on. All computers should have Virus Protection installed, enabled, and up-to-date. Antivirus software is used mainly to prevent and remove computer viruses, including Worms and Trojans. Such programs may also detect and remove adware, spyware and other forms of malicious software.
