JED is a nonprofit that exists to protect emotional health and prevent suicide for our nation’s teens and young adults. We’re partnering with high schools and colleges to strengthen their mental health, substance abuse and suicide prevention programs and systems. We’re equipping teens and young adults with the skills and knowledge to help themselves and each other.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
NAMI provides numerous supports including a helpline, peer lead education and support programs, and information for special populations. The Family and Caregivers section provides helpful information about supporting your student and other family members affected by mental illness. NAMI Illinois is the Illinois chapter, offering information about local programs and resources.
Teen Line provides educational and support resources for parents of adolescents
People who are LGBTQ and their families deserve to be safe and secure, no matter where they live, work, study, pray or play. Through our mission of support, education, and advocacy, PFLAG works to make sure that all communities provide this type of security, and have the resources needed to help those communities thrive.
