Columbia College Chicago is committed to maintaining an environment that respects the dignity of its students, faculty, and staff and is free from discrimination of any kind. As required by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and its implementing regulations (“Title IX”), the College does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its education programs or activities. Sexual Harassment is a form of sex discrimination. In compliance with the Title IX, this Title IX Sexual Harassment Policy & Procedures requires a consistent institutional response to any allegation of Sexual Harassment regarding which the College has Actual Knowledge that is: (a) in a College Education Program Or Activity, and (b) involves conduct that occurred in the United States of America. This Policy applies to all Columbia faculty, staff, students, as well as to third parties (the “Community”), regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

We designed this webpage to serve as a resource on Sexual Harassment – included within is information concerning emergency assistance, reporting options, support services, available training, grievance procedures and applicable College policies. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with these materials and to reach out with any questions or constructive feedback. This important issue demands our community’s full engagement. An informed and empowered study body provides a powerful deterrent.
