  Tutors help to reinforce concepts taught in Accounting and Finance classes and provide support with homework assignments and exam preparation.

• Audio Arts & Acoustics

  Audio Arts & Acoustics tutors assist students in mastering course material for audio courses. AA&A tutors are well-versed in the topics and course progressions of these classes. Sessions are available in person and remotely.

  Students can work with Audio tutors on:

• Fashion
  Fashion tutors help students to better understand how to apply digital strategies for fashion design utilizing Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign. Fashion tutors also assist students in using Microsoft Excel for business math and merchandising applications. In addition, tutors can support students understanding of design principles, case studies, and apparel components. Sessions are available in person and remotely. 
   
  Students can work with Fashion tutors on:

  • Improving proficiency of Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Identifying specific textiles and apparel applications
  • Understanding various levels of the retail industry

• Foreign Language

  Foreign Language tutors work with students to develop language speaking and writing skills toward the completion of assignments and projects. 

  Foreign Language tutors are available on-site and remotely during the Academic Center for Tutoring hours and work with students on various language projects and conversation skills in the following subjects:

• Illustration

  Illustration tutors assist students in mastering course material for Introduction to Illustration, Drawing I, Concept Art, and the Illustration Studio I. Illustration tutors are well-versed in the topics and course progressions of these classes.

  Students can get assistance in the following subjects:
  

  • Fundamental Drawing I techniques: sketching, observational drawing, perspective, and composition.
  • Illustration project fundamentals: Scanning, file type management, creating new files (size requirements, dpi + ppt), setting up for printing, web, and archiving.
  • Basic Illustration process: Research, thumbnails (exploring new ideas), sketches, and revisions.
  • Basic digital Illustration techniques: working with layers, downloading and using digital brushes, color correction, etc.
  • Basic traditional illustration techniques: inking, paper types, markers, using new tools, etc.
  • Feedback on your illustration project, improving on the elements of art and principles of design (line, color, contrast, rhythm, proportion, balance, unity, emphasis, movement, etc.)
  • Peer critiques on any illustration, personal, or assignments.

• Music Theory
  Music Theory tutors assist students in mastering course material for Elements of Music Design, Foundations I through IV, Foundations of Music Supplement, Theory I-II for Musical Theatre, and Songwriting I-II. Music Theory tutors are well-versed in the topics and course progressions of these classes.

• Programming
  Programming tutors help students to better understand the fundamentals of coding and building out programs in several different languages and IDEs. Tutors can assist students in many facets of their classes from helping to understand specific concepts that were discussed that week in class, to helping design the program architecture of a larger project. In addition, tutors can reinforce general programming concepts such as object-oriented principles and web development skills.

  Software tutors help students to better understand how to utilize Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign, as well as assist students with web design using CSS and HTML. In addition, tutors can assist with programs within the Microsoft Office suite. Sessions are available on-site and remotely.

  • Deciding which program is most suitable for the project at hand

  • Skill-building exercises regarding each program

  Writing tutors help students to develop and strengthen their writing skills for any project at any stage of the writing process. Writing tutors are available in-person and remotely during all Academic Center for Tutoring office hours. 

  Students work with tutors to:

  • Review grammar and punctuation
  • Use research in writing
