Students who need to replace a lost or stolen Campus Card or Ventra U-Pass should contact Columbia Central. There is a $25 fee for replacing a lost ID card, and the fee to replace a U-Pass is $50.
Students can check-out a temporary ID card from the main desk at the Student Center.
Students who wish to submit a non-legal name change, such as a preferred name, can do so by logging into their MyColumbia portal and select "Change My First Name" under the MyColumbia tab.
Students needing to submit a legal name change will need to complete the 'Legal Name or Birthday Update' form and submit it to the Office of the Registrar at 600 S. Michigan Avenue - Room 611 or email registrar@colum.edu or fax to (312) 369-8073. You will need to submit relevant court documentation of the name change along with your form.
Student Assistance and Community Standards will meet with students to help resolve peer conflict.

Students living on-campus in one of our leased residence hall spaces should contact their Resident Assistant first toward resolving conflict with a roommate/suitemate. Professional staff in Housing & Residential Experience are also on hand to assist with more complex and difficult conflict situations.
Parking in downtown Chicago can be a challenge - but it does not have to be! While Columbia College Chicago DOES NOT manage any parking facilities nor parking lots, we can provide you with some of our best tips & suggestions when it comes to securing parking in the Columbia College Chicago vicinity.
Smartphone apps: SpotHero or ParkWhiz - will allow you to search your destination and desired parking time to show you rates in the vicinity of your destination. You can reserve a spot in advance and pay through the app. Additional instructions will be provided to you in the app so that you can gain access to the lot and/or exit without having to pay an additional fee.
Chicago Street Parking: Chicago's street parking is privately managed. Download the app ParkChicago to enter your vehicle's information. When parking on a Chicago street, you will find posted signs listing the specific zone (usually a 6 digit code) that you will enter in the app when parking. After selecting the amount of time you wish to park, you will pay through the app. You will also be able to extend your parking time through the app if needed, instead of having to walk back to your vehicle to give a machine more money.

There are many hotels in downtown Chicago, commuting to/from another hotel in Chicago to the Columbia campus can also be very easy through the CTA "L" or by CTA bus.
Columbia College Chicago's Campus Safety & Security department provides comprehensive safety and security programs for our campus, 24-hours a day/7-days a week.
In addition to providing on-campus trainings such as Active Shooter Response and Kick A$$, Campus Safety & Security provides an after-hours SafeRide Program to help students and College employees travel safely between campus locations and predesignated mass transit stations in the local Chicago area. The SafeRide Program is available seven days a week from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am during the fall and spring semesters from one campus location to another, or the following CTA and Metra stations:
Rides operate on a first-come, first-served basis during operatng hours - call (312) 369-SAFE (7233). You cannot schedule or reserve rides in advance. You will need a valid Columbia College Chicago ID card to ride. The SafeRide van will only operate to/from the designated points on campus and mass transit spots listed above, this is not an Uber and the van will not make stops at unauthorized locations. Please inform the dispatcher if you have an accessibility issue or need when calling.
