General Health Care

All campus facilities are in full compliance with the guidelines and recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Cook County Health Department, and the Center for Student Wellbeing. Health care professionals encourage you to stay informed, stay healthy, and be prepared.

All enrolled students can access TimelyCare, 24/7 "in your pocket" access to mental and medical health services and support. Students can select from on-demand support (see a provider right away) through MedicalNow or TalkNow or scheduled support (select a provider and a date and time that works with your calendar) through Scheduled Counseling or Scheduled Medical.

Within the app, students will also find numerous self-help resources, guided journeys, peer communities and more!

STAY INFORMED STAY HEALTHY
  • Eat healthy, get 8-10 hours of sleep per night, and exercise. Find healthy ways to deal with stress and anxiety.
  • Practice good hygiene. Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after coughing or sneezing. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
  • Practice respiratory etiquette. The main way flu spreads is from person to person in droplets produced by coughs and sneezes, so it's important to cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. If you don't have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow or shoulder, NOT your hands.
  • If you are sick, stay at home or in your place of residence for at least 24 hours after your fever has passed.
  • Talk to a health care provider about whether you should be vaccinated. Visit the Office of the Registrar site for more information on immunizations.
BE PREPARED
  • Keep hand sanitizer and air/surface disinfectant on-hand for your personal use.
  • Create a first aid kit that includes a personal thermometer, OTC pain relievers, cold & allergy meds, etc.
