Assistant Director of Community Standards and Programs
Whitney is a Chicago native who earned her Master of Science degree in Higher Education with an emphasis in Student Affairs from Northern Illinois University in 2017. She has worked in residence life for over 10 years in a variety of capacities both as a student and full-time professional. After working at Marquette University for four years, Whitney returned home to Chicago and joined the Office of Residence Life here at Columbia in 2021. Whitney’s work here at Columbia is primarily in intentional student learning and development inside of the residence halls, including educational programming and living learning communities.
Assistant Director of Training & Community Relations
Christie holds a Master of Science in College Student Personnel Administration from Illinois State University. She joined the Residence Life team at Columbia College Chicago in January 2016 and has been in Residence Life for eight years. Prior to coming to Columbia, she worked at Illinois Wesleyan University and Saint Xavier University. Christie enjoys supporting student development while challenging them to reach their highest potential.
Assistant Director of Assignments & Operations
James joined Residence Life in May 2019. He previously worked at Columbia College Admissions Office as a Counseling Associate in 2016. He also graduated from Columbia College Chicago back in May 2006.
Coordinator of Community Relations
Alexandria is a native Chicagoan and a recent graduate from Columbia's Creative Writing Fiction M.F.A. program who also holds an M.A. degree in Education with an emphasis in TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages) from Tel-Aviv University. Before coming to Columbia, she was a Volunteer Recruiter for Community Programming at Loyola University. Alexandria has worked in Residence Life since 2019, first as a graduate assistant, then as the Coordinator of Community Relations. Alexandria focuses on student success, development, and professional growth. She also leads student selection for Resident Assistants.
Residence Life Coordinator
As a two-time graduate of Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Dre earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Master of Science degree in Higher Education. He has worked at various top tier institutions of higher education, serving as a student affairs practitioner in leadership roles such as residence life, student activities, orientation, advising, and student conduct. In his spare time, he enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, traveling, and embarking on new adventures.

Ling joined the Residence Life team in February 2021. She brings with her over 20 years of customer service experience. Ling enjoys interacting with people whether it be over the phone or in person. Deeply committed to customer satisfaction, if Ling doesn't know the answer - she is determined to find it for you. A self-proclamied foodie, Ling is also smitten about her Bernadoodle dog, Bao.
