Student Government Association Committees
The Student Government Association has committees dedicated to advocate for the diverse needs of the student body of Columbia College Chicago. Each SGA member serves in at least one committee, and this is where the work gets done. Any students are welcome to join the Student Affairs or Provisional Committees.
Student Affairs Committee:
(Open to all students)
Tuesdays 4-5PM in The Loft (2nd floor of Student Center in Student Life)
The Student Affairs Committee addresses the concerns of the student body of Columbia College. This committee handles issues ranging from matters of campus facilities and environment, residence life, and student life concerns to academic and non-academic concerns. Part of the Student Affairs Committee is a standing committee specifically for Graduate Student Affairs. The Student Affairs Committee meetings are open to ALL Columbia College Chicago students! Provisional Committees:
(Open to all students)
A Provisional Committee is generally understood to be temporary in nature. The E-Board establishes a provisional committee to perform a specific issue or project task. Once the task is completed, the committee disbands. The need or question addressed by the committee generally originates with the students.

Improving Communication Around Recycling and Compost
Meets Fridays from 10:30am-12pm in the 2nd floor Student Life Office

Internal Affairs Committee:

Tuesdays 6-7PM in The Loft (2nd floor of Student Center in Student Life)
The Internal Affairs Committee organizes and manages all internal affairs of the SGA senate. This includes hearing and reviewing fund requests, developing Senate training and orientation, arranging for guest speakers for Senate meetings, and organizing and implementing internal Senate events. The Internal Affairs Committee meeting alternate each week on Wednesdays from 4-5 PM in The Loft. Please reach out to Dave Palazzolo (VP of Finance) for more information. sgatreasurer@colum.edu
External Affairs Committee:

Wednesdays 4-5PM in The Loft (2nd floor of Student Center in Student Life)
The External Affairs Committee handles recruitments of new members, as well as publicity of the SGA. This includes recruiting new members of the organization, creating and implementing marketing strategies for brand awareness and events. This committee also deals with the publication of all advertisements, flyers, and other promotional materials. The External Affairs Committee meetings are Tuesday from 6:00-7:00 PM in The Loft.
