Faculty-Led International and Domestic Programs:
General Eligibility Requirements:
- A cumulative 2.5 GPA (UG) / 3.0 (Grad)
- Good academic standing with no active holds
- Be in compliance with the Student Code of Conduct
- Meet any program specific requirements, if applicable
Deadlines:
- J-term & Spring programs: October 31*
- Summer programs: March 31*
- *Individual programs MAY have earlier deadlines. Check with faculty leaders.
Application Process:
- Submit application via Slate: https://apply.colum.edu/register/facultyledapp
- Submit any additional application materials (if applicable) to faculty leaders as directed
- Receive application decision via email
- Confirm acceptance and submit program deposit via Slate Student Status Page
- Upload any additional materials as requested to Slate Student Status Page
Course Registration:
- Students are responsible for registering for the appropriate course associated with their faculty-led program when registration opens for that term
Deposits:
- International faculty-led programs require a $750 deposit
- Domestic faculty-led programs require a $500 deposit
- *In the rare case that Special Course Fee is less than the deposit amount, the excess deposit will be applied to any remaining or future charges on Student Account. Deposit amount cannot be changed.
- Deposits secure your enrollment in the program and are non-refundable, unless the program is canceled
Costs & Billing:
- Special Course Fee - Covers program expenses which typically includes accommodations, most on-site transportation, and program activities, unless otherwise listed
- Tuition & Fees -
- J-term & Spring programs: Undergraduate tuition is included if it falls within the 18 credit hour maximum for the spring term, including the credits associated with the faculty-led program. Any credits taken over 18 credit hours will cost additional. Graduate tuition is paid per credit hour based on degree program, just as any other graduate course at Columbia College. - Summer programs: Undergraduate tuition is based on the number of credits that the course is worth plus fees. Graduate tuition and fees vary based on degree program. See Columbia Central for current per-credit tuition rates for summer.
- Estimated Additional Costs- These additional out-of-pocket expenses typically include airfare, meals, International Health Insurance (if applicable), and additional spending money
- Billing - Students will be billed via their Student Account for the Special Course Fee, Tuition & Fees (if applicable), and International Health Insurance (if applicable)
- Budgeting - Utilize the Faculty-Led Budget Planning Tool to calculate all of the expenses involved.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
- Deposits for faculty-led programs at Columbia College Chicago are non-refundable unless the program is canceled
- Programs may be canceled due to low-enrollment, or other factors outside of Columbia College Chicago's control.
