Passport Information

Passports are necessary for all international travel. Please secure a passport book. A passport card will not be sufficient for crossing international borders. It can take 10-12 weeks for passports to be processed, and shorter if you choose to expedite your application.
Power of Attorney

A Power of Attorney would grant another individual broad powers to handle financial affairs on your behalf. This would be most appropriate for students completing a semester or year abroad.

Travel authorization called advance parole might be possible for students with an approved grant of DACA. Please note that reentry to the United States can never be guaranteed, even if you have advance parole authorization, and we recommend that DACA students seek the advice of an immigration attorney to weigh this risk before departing the United States on a study abroad program.
