2026-2027 On-Campus Returning Housing Application

Housing applications for students seeking on-campus living accomodations for 2026-2027 will open at 11am on Wednesday, February 25.

February 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM: Housing Applications Open

Housing application opens in the MCR Housing Portal.

Students must complete both the Primary and Secondary applications.

Students will be assigned a priority number once they complete their Secondary application (see details below)

March 6 at 5:00 PM: SSD Deadline #1

Deadline for students with approved SSD housing accommodations for current Academic Year 25-26 to respond to SSD outreach. Please check your Columbia email and respond to that communication directly.

March 10 at 12:00 PM: Deadline to Complete Both Applications

Deadline to complete the Primary and Secondary Application (both applications are necessary for the renewal process).

March 17 at 10:00am: Room Selection Opens

Room self-selection begins based on desired community and Room Selection Access Time.

April 3 at 5:00 PM: Room Selection Closes

Any student who has not selected a room by this date will no longer be eligible to self-select their room for 2026-2027.

May 1 at 5:00PM: SSD Deadline #2

Deadline to submit paperwork to SSD to be considered for a reasonable housing accommodation, if you do not already have one. PLEASE NOTE: Students who submit after May 1, 2026, at 5:00pm are not guaranteed to be reviewed for reasonable housing accommodations. Submission before May 1, 2026, at 5:00pm is essential.

Apply to be a Resident Assistant

Housing & Residential Experience hires Resident Assistants every year to serve as mentors, leaders, programmers, and support staff in each of our residence halls!

Applications to be an RA for the 2026-2027 year will open on Thursday, October 30 at 12pm and close on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 11:59 pm. We will be hosting information sessions on October 2nd, 9th, & 16th from 7pm - 9pm in the Boardroom on the 2nd floor of the Student Center.

The Fall 2025 Space Change Waitlist is currently closed. We will be opening a Spring 2026 waitlist in January 2026.

Guest Exception Form

Residents must submit a Guest Exception Form for any guests under the age of 18 and for guests who do not have a valid Government ID. Residents must fill out this form to preregister their guest(s).

Students wishing to film or take photos in any residence hall space must complete this form to request prior written approval from Housing & Residential Experience (HRE).

Contract Renewal 2026-2027

Housing applications for living on campus during the 26-27 school year will launch around mid-late February 2026. Applications will be live on our MCR Housing page.

The Room Selection Process for Contract Renewal will open early March 2026 on a rolling basis based on your desired living community.

2026-2027 Academic Year Housing - New and Incoming Students

Housing applications for New Students will open April 8, 2026 at 11am CST. Applications will be live on our MCR Housing page.

The Room Self-Selection Process will open on late April to early May 2026 on a rolling basis based on your desired living community.
